- 1. Advantages of limited-torque hydraulic couplings
◆ To enhance the starting performance of squirrel-cage induction motors, we can leverage the motor’s peak torque as the starting torque, thereby avoiding the unreasonable mismatch phenomenon of “using a large horse to pull a small cart.”
◆ Shorten the electric motor’s starting time and reduce the inrush current during the starting process.
◆ Prevent power overload and protect the motor and working machinery from damage due to overload.
◆ Reduce vibration and impact during the starting process.
◆ In multi-motor drive systems, it ensures that each motor starts independently, achieves power balance, and can provide a starting torque limit ranging from 1.2 to 1.6 times the rated torque.

2. Application scope of hydraulic couplings
Widely used in various types of mechanical equipment across industries such as power, iron and steel, metallurgy, mining, coal, building materials, chemical engineering, ports, lifting, transportation, and construction machinery. Examples include: belt conveyors, scraper conveyors, chain conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, bucket-wheel stacker-reclaimers, coal mills, ball mills, crushers, bridge cranes, gantry cranes, tower cranes, leather-tanning drums, washing machines, wire-drawing machines, rubber-mixing machines, boiler slag crushers, centrifuges, amusement machines, and more.
3. Characteristics of Limited-Torque Hydraulic Couplings
- (1) Types, varieties, and specifications of limited-torque hydraulic couplings:
◆ By transmission medium, they can be either mineral oil-based or water-filled; their axial installation lengths are identical, and their components are fully interchangeable.
◆ By drive type: the YOX series is driven by the outer impeller (pump impeller); the YOXn series is driven by the inner impeller (turbine).
◆ By cavity type: there is the single-cavity YOX series; and the double-cavity YOXD series.
◆ Structural classification based on starting time length: the YOP series—without a rear auxiliary cavity; the YOX series—standard type; the YOXV series—extended rear auxiliary cavity type; and the YOXvvs series—extended rear auxiliary cavity and enlarged side auxiliary cavity type.
◆ By equipment transmission characteristics: there are the YOXP series with belt pulleys; and the YOXIIZ and YOXNZ series with brake wheels.
◆ By easy-disassembly type: YOXA series with elastic sleeve pin couplings.

(3) Designation and Meaning of Hydraulic Coupler Codes and Markings
The designations and markings of hydraulic couplings shall be indicated using Chinese pinyin letters in accordance with GB/T 5837-2008.
1. Hydraulic couplings driven by an external impeller and using mineral oil as the working medium do not require any codes or letters to denote them.
